Welcome to the website of Teré, your home away from home in the uniquely Ligurian village of Ceriana. Located just a short drive from Sanremo in the province of Imperia, at Teré we look forward to offering you a warm welcome and making sure you have a great time discovering the pine forests, chestnut woods, vineyards, and olive groves of the upper Armea Valley. We have six rooms to choose from (four triples, two singles), each one with its own bathroom and shower.
Ceriana is the ideal base for sampling traditional Ligurian delicacies, especially the local Ceriana sausage, Taggiasca extra virgin olive oil, our famous dried tomatoes, Moscatello di Taggia wine, and a delicious ice-cream from Pellegrin. There’s simply no better place for a relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle, and your daily routine!
With its narrow streets, squares, and steep pathways, visiting Ceriana is like taking a step back to the Middle Ages or, perhaps, into some tranquil oasis. And in summer, it’s as if the whole village has natural air-conditioning!
With its huge network of trails, tracks, fire-breaks, and paths, all just waiting to be discovered, and with the sea on one side and the towering peaks of the Maritime Alps on the other, Ceriana is also a paradise for cyclists and hikers.
Known as Il paese che canta (the town that sings), Ceriana is home to the “choral drone bass,” a singing style introduced to the world by American ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax and a centuries-old tradition that’s handed down here from father to son. Every party and family get-together is an excuse to sing the local folk songs, including songs that were composed right here in the valley. Ceriana also has a long tradition for sacred music – Misereres, Alma Contemplas, Stabat Maters, and so on – which are performed every Holy Week by local brotherhoods. (link)
HISTORY
In the early 1900s, Signora Teresa rented rooms to travelers who were passing through the village and needed a place to stay. Her kindness and courtesy won them over, and she became known in the valley as “Teré, the Landlady of Ceriana.”
Fauna
Our comfortable, homey rooms take their names from the local fauna. Each one has free Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV, a private bathroom with shower, and standard Italian 220V three-pin electrical sockets (round pins). We regret that we are unable to provide guest parking.
ROOM ONLY
The tradition at Teré is to offer accommodation only. Linen is changed once a week and when each guest leaves. More frequent linen changes can be arranged. Check-in is between 3:00 and 8:00 p.m. Check-out is between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
CERIANA: A TASTE OF MAGIC
Ceriana is a medieval village with a magical, ancient feel. It’s built on a series of concentric rings around the hill and surrounded by green countryside. A stay here makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time to a past of sacred music, ancient rituals, and delicious local dishes, whose recipes have been handed down through the ages.
Teré’s six rooms each have free Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV, a private bathroom with shower, standard Italian 220V three-pin electrical sockets (round pins), wardrobe, heating, and a balcony with views across the valley and mountains.
Linen is changed once a week and when each guest leaves. More frequent linen changes can be arranged.

Kids of all ages are welcome at Teré, with free accommodation for children up to and including five years of age.
Pets are welcome.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises.
The Gufo (Owl) room is a single room with a small double bed. It measures 11 sq.m./120 sq.ft.
The Volpe (Fox) room is a single room with a double bed. It measures 14 sq.m./150 sq.ft.
The Tasso (Badger) room is a double room with a queen bed and a footstool folding bed. It measures 22 sq.m./240 sq.ft. and sleeps up to three people.
The Scoiattolo (Squirrel), Aquila (Eagle), and Ghiro (Dormouse) rooms all have two single beds and a footstool folding bed. They measure 20 sq.m./215 sq.ft. and sleep up to three people.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations up to five days before the date of arrival are free of charge. Cancellations made less than five days before the date of arrival will attract a charge equal to the cost of the first night’s accommodation. In the case of no shows, the entire sum agreed upon booking will be retained.
Our system places a €10.00 pre-authorization charge on the credit card used to make the reservation. The pre-authorization charge is canceled immediately after verification.

A HIKER’S PARADISE
Although it’s just a short distance from the sea, Ceriana is immersed in green countryside. Surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, orchards, and centuries-old forests, the village is a mecca for hikers. The local trails were recently signposted by a local volunteer association. Plus, thanks to contributions from private sponsors, including Affittacamere Terè, the local council has published a detailed hiking map of the area. Using this invaluable guide (download the PDF here), it’s now easier than ever to plan your hiking trip in the green oasis of Ceriana. The map features the five main local trails, guiding hikers to Monte Neveira, Passo del Merlo, Cima Furché, San Giovanni di Ceriana, and many other attractions. Ceriana is also the end (or the beginning, depending on which way you’re going) of the third stage, Dolceacqua–Ceriana, of the Sentiero Balcone hiking trail.
Most of the trails and all the roads here are suitable for mountain bikers of every skill level, family outings, and adrenaline-pumping workouts. On request, Affittacamere Teré can organize excursions with nature or local guides for individuals and small groups. In collaboration with Riviera dei Fiori Outdoor (http://www.rivieradeifiorioutdoor.it), we can also recommend mountain bike and snorkeling excursions. Rental of various kinds of outdoor equipment can be arranged.

BY CAR:
From Genoa: take the A7/A10 motorway towards Ventimiglia. Take the Arma di Taggia exit and continue on Via Aurelia Bis. Take the Valle Armea/Mercato dei Fiori exit and continue towards Sanremo. Continue on the SS1 Aurelia and turn right onto the SP55 towards Poggio-Ceriana-Baiardo.
From Ventimiglia: Take the A10/E80 Genoa-Nice motorway towards Genoa. Take the Arma di Taggia exit. Continue on Via Aurelia Bis. Take the Valle Armea/Mercato dei Fiori exit and continue towards Sanremo. Continue on the SS1 Aurelia and turn right onto the SP55 towards Poggio-Ceriana-Baiardo.
From Sanremo: Head east on Corso Cavallotti and, near the Villa del Sole, turn left towards Poggio-Ceriana-Baiardo.
From Arma di Taggia: From the Valle Armea roundabout, follow the sign to Sanremo. Continue until the turnoff for Poggio and turn right onto the SP55 towards Poggio-Ceriana-Baiardo.
